If a perpetrator notices your outdoor security camera, they’ll find a different way to intrude into your home through a different route. In enters the need for in-home security cameras.
In almost every respect, indoor home security cameras are equally as important as outdoor protection. It’s much easier for someone to find an outdoor camera than it is to figure out where an indoor camera might be positioned.
If someone does wind up breaching your outdoor security system, there is little to deter them from breaking in and taking whatever they’re looking for. Whether its property, one’s life, or both.
A well-placed indoor security camera can send someone off running and regretting their actions. Knowing that not only have they been caught, but their physical profile has been recorded. This makes it easy work for the Police to investigate and catch the individual.
The following is going to be a quick rundown of an affordable and easy-to-use indoor security camera, that relies heavily on cutting edge AI technology.
SimCam 1S AI Indoor Home Security Camera
SimCam 1S is an indoor security camera that only needs to be placed in a strategic location and plugged into an outlet. You download the SimCam app into your mobile device, sync it up, and you’re good to go.
You don’t need anything more than a Wi-Fi connection and the SimCam camera. All of the AI technology and video recording are managed within the camera itself, not needing a hub of some sort for data storage and feature management.
No Monthly Subscription
For a lot of people, this is a big deal- with good reason. Many companies that provide customers with an AI security camera require you to subscribe via monthly payments. Through this subscription, you can use your camera to its full potential, and with all of the features.
A subscription also includes video data storage in whatever cloud system they’re using. None of this is so with SimCam.
All of the features are opened up and available to adjust through the mobile app. And more importantly, all data is stored locally within the camera itself on an SD card. However, if you prefer a cloud-based storage system check out our review called What Is The Best Indoor Security Camera For DIY? There are several other top options for security cameras with varying features and most offer cloud storage.
The way it works is tuned in such a way, that as soon as the camera detects someone and begins recording, you’re immediately notified. With the notification is whatever was recorded up to that point.
So, even if a person notices the camera and takes the time to smash it up and even remove and destroy the sim card, the evidence is stored in the message sent to your phone- a well-thought-out system in that regard.

In-Home Security Cameras Assisted with AI
Traditional security cameras might have the ability to pan around or even zoom in and out. Today’s AI security cameras blow the old ones out of the water. Day or night vision, people and pet recognition, and all of the extras that separate your family and friends from intruders make these items more than worthwhile.
No Cloud Storage Necessary
For some people, having sensitive data being recorded and stored on a cloud is more of a threat than what the cameras are built to detect. This is why the SimCam localized system is revered.
There’s no fear of any undesirables getting their hands on your sensitive in-home data through cloud-based hacks and backdoors, when you can rely on localized storage.
Less False Alarms
With the assistance of the multi-leveled recognition software, coupled with the ability to establish different zone sizes to monitor, false alarms are greatly reduced. What this means is that you wind up with far fewer false alarms being sent to your phone.
Conclusion
SimCam has taken a great set of good ideas and incorporated them into their product line, not the least of which is the 1S Indoor Security Camera. But one of the most genius parts of their camera systems is the engineering involved behind making this as user-friendly as possible. We review a lot of security gear, but I can’t imagine a more well-rounded set of features for an in-home camera that meets so many of the current demands. This sounds like a great product for anyone wanting good indoor security. I like it that the device is really unrecognizable concerning it being a camera. For all you know, it could be a small speaker for a desktop computer. That’s what I think of when I look at it anyway. It’s also nice that there’s night vision and face recognition, as well as the protection of footage when using your cell phone. If I needed a general indoor security system, this is a product that would be considered.
Awesome Justin! Thanks so much for your input! 🙂

SimCam 1S is an interesting product for helping with home protection. There are several things to consider when putting in a home security system aren’t there? I do admit to being out of the knowledge loop for this part of living safely. I have been concentrating on washing my hands, wearing a mask, and social distancing. Times like these give cause to raise all parts of our personal safety protocol, don’t they?
So it seemed that you were recommending an economical way to provide some additional safety above the security systems we have seen advertised in the past to keep unwanted people out of our homes. And I see those benefits. for sure, and also a few others! 🙂 For instance, what if you have a sleepwalker in the home? Or what about if Mom moves in because of her dementia? Putting some device in place that would alert a homeowner when there was movement and activity could be a lifesaver.
I see more products being offered nowadays. Have you looked up the numbers? Are home invasions really on the increase, or have more people learned about devices such as these?
Great input Sami! Thank you so much for your comments, questions and suggestions. Although home invasions may have decreased in certain segments of society or different geographical locations, overall home invasions have increased tremendously over the last few years. You’d even think the pandemic would have stopped a lot more than it has. It has dropped a little bit in certain of areas, but not to the degree you would think it would with everyone at their homes. I simply advise everyone to use whatever means possible to secure their homes inside and out and to secure their online activities as well. The evil monsters that have been there all along are using this downtime to get into your wallet. They are trying tonight. Get secured! Go through our site and look at the cameras, alarms, triggers, motion detectors, and VPNs. We all need every one of these elements we can afford to put in our arsenal of family protection.
Thanks so much for your incredible input!

Hi, thanks for this recommendation. I have to admit that I’m not looking for an indoor camera for security purposes, I’m looking for one to watch the foster cats while I’m away. But I’m located out in rural Lousiana on a farm and can’t get WIFI out where I live. So I might have to do a trail camera, but those don’t have the features I like with THIS camera. I like the idea of pet recognition so at least it doesn’t sound an alarm and no subscription. I’ll have to give this some thought. Thanks for the suggestion.
You are very welcome! I’m glad to point you in the right direction. Let me know once you acquire a camera and what your thoughts are.
Thanks for your comments!
The importance of having an indoor security camera cannot be overemphasized because just like you said here, it is just as important as having a security camera outside. Having one inside makes everything even more secure. I like this product from SimCam, the 1S AI Indoor Home Security Camera. The features are great and seeing that there’s no need for a subscription or cloud storage is very essential.
Hi Payton and thanks for your comments. 🙂 Yes, these are great cameras and offer a certain kind of flexibility that many homeowners are looking for. Let me know once you’ve had one for a while and give us your review of the product from your personal experience.

Thank you so much for this brilliantly written article, Darrin! Three of my cousins have had their homes broken into over the past 5 months, and none of them had indoor security cameras (though they all had outdoor security cameras in the fronts and backs of their homes). I love the fact that modern cameras provide for facial, fingerprint, voice and pet recognition-there’s nothing more telling of suspicious activity than an unfamiliar face in your abode. I also love the fact that even if a perpetrator detects and destroys the camera, all of the information goes to the owner’s phone, such that nothing is lost or goes unnoticed (we have the bad guys right where we want them! Haha). With the increasingly dangerous world that we live in, indoor and outdoor security is a must have. Great read! God bless you!
Thank you so much for your comments! The technology used today is unbelievable for sure. One day soon there will be little to no home break-ins as it becomes impossible for intruders to not be traced and caught. The only intrusions will be done by high tech criminals who are searching for the Holy Grail! Let’s all keep our homes safe by simply placing a few cameras, sensors, and alarms in our homes.
Thanks again!

This is one of the coolest in door cameras I have seen so far. The fact that it allows you to easily recognize people, pets, and objects in your home environment with a 1080p HD makes it super unique. I will add this to list of what my husband is purchasing online this month end.
Excellent! I think you’ll love this product.
Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

Having the right security system is one of the bestmost serious decisions to make as it is very important as you might never know when that footage would come in handy. I really like the SimCam 1S AI because of its person detection and facial recognition. Great features! They are very important. I’m thinking of purchasing this product to replace my old one.
Thanks for your comments! I’m sure you will love this camera. Feel free to stop by with any comments or questions, especially once you have this camera. We’d love to get your feedback.

I recently read your review of SimCam’s doorbell system and came away impressed. I have to say that I am also impressed with their indoor offerings. I have always wondered if getting an in-home security camera system would be a good idea. One thing I have always been wary about is hacking. I have heard so many stories and seen videos where people hack into your system and start talking to you and watching you. I hope that wouldn’t be the case with this particular model.
Hi Steve! Thanks for your comments. I suppose there is always a level of concern with anything being operated through wifi or uploaded to the cloud. But there are so many more safeguards in place these days that the security is better than ever. Nothing is 100%, but I feel that these units are on the safe side of the equation.
Thanks again Steve!

I love the detailed and structured information you provide. It makes it really easy to choose, where otherwise I’d be completely lost. The article is well divided in paragraphs which makes reading easy.
I also appreciate the location of the mention to the AP on the right side. Rather than in the text.
Thanks Karin! I appreciate your comments. Drop by anytime to give us your thoughts on the products and/or services we review.

Thank you so much for sharing this informative article with everyone. The main feature of this article is a home security camera that has indoor AI protection. The features of this type of camera are amazing which I have used in my own home. The most important aspect I like about it is its HD recording and 360-degree panning. Those of you who are thinking of extra security at home can definitely buy this type of camera.
Thanks, man! I’m so glad the article was useful to you. Hit us up any time with suggestions or questions. 🙂
